Jhiaxus

Jhiaxus is one bad-ass SOB in the G2 comic. If you've read it, you know what I mean, and if you haven't, shame, shame, everybody knows your name. Anyway, the Jhiaxus project began as a pretty straightforward repaint of Overrun, although it was always my intention to add the wings on his back. These are both screwed and nailed in; I dig the look a lot: However, one day in a toy store I noticed the Gundam Maxter, and was astounded to see how much he looked like Jhiaxus! What especially did it for me was the "football helmet" style bar on his face. Anyway, I clipped and sanded the yellow antennae and continued on. Later, I started to think that Overrun's arms were, well, kinda wimpy. However, Grimlock's arms were nice and beefy and even resembled Jhiaxus' arms. Unfortunately, they didn't fit Overrun's Torso no matter how much I pushed. So I sanded, but too much! I thought I'd try Krok's body as a substitute. Although it had less of a jet feel than Overrun's, it fit Grimlock's arms and even allowed me to clip one of his shoulder bumps, leaving the one on Jhiaxus' right shoulder, just like in the comic.
