As with most of my customs, Tap-Out came to be as a result of a need. I couldn't get to Botcon 2002; I had to be in a wedding! Not my own, though. Anyway, when I saw how much Tap-Out was going for on auction sites, my head started to spin. No way was I paying $100 for a repaint of a Cliffjumper key chain. And then it dawned on me: why not just get a keychain and make one myself? Hell, I even got an extra Bumblebee PVC and made one of them too:
And a spare Bumblebee Action Master too!
This custom was a bit more difficult because of the assembly, which for a small Transformer is pretty intricate. Sadly, because of the repainting, Tap-Out is no longer able to transform to car mode. But I say he still looks good. Here are the colors I used on him:
- Ice Blue (Games Workshop)
- Fortress Grey (Games Workshop)
- Elf Grey/Chaos Black Mix (Games Workshop)
- Mithril Silver (Games Workshop)
- Turquoise Metallic (Testors Model Masters spray)
- Winter Grey (Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch)
